What they did not want you to ever find out is that your generation, the generation born between 1980-1995, actually outnumbers the Baby Boomers. They knew that if you ever turned your eye towards political reform, you could change the world. They tried to keep you sated on vapid television shows and vapid music. They cut off your education and fed you brain candy. They took away your music and gave you Top Ten pop stations. They cut off your art and replaced it with endless reality shows for you to plug into, hoping you would sit quietly by as they ran the world. We as a society are only as strong as our weakest link. Give ‘em hell, kids.

amen.

Many of the problems of today are caused by quote-on-quote old people who are still living in the times when they were born and are still trying to run the world with their dated ways and their dated morals. Our generation has the power to change that. Each generation is different than the last, and each time the old one tries to fight for control against the new one. But when they’re gone, we’ll be left here. And it is up to us to determine what kind of societies we live in. So lets not let them run the show. Keep vigilant and do your part in building a better future and keep moving forward. They can’t win against change and progress run by the young. In a few decades, granted, we will be where they are, being the old cooks who the young of the future will try to take down. I guess we just have to either change with the times or face facts and let them take the reigns when we’re done, and try to remember they’re where we are now. Most won’t, of course, and will become the same stubborn conservatives that they hate now. The revolutionary thinking of today is the conservative thinking of tomorrow. But still, it is up to each generation to push forward progress. That’s the important thing. We must never forget it’s up to us what the future will be. So let’s make it count.
